It started with a call from a friend who said that he would like some help with a floor tile job. It turned it a ongoing project involving wall textures, faux finishing and murals.
This work was all done in a single home - an old Nebraska farmhouse with a new addition.
The project started in the bathroom - this was the original tile job. We tiled the floor and the walls, then created a texture and finish for the walls. We also worked with our friend Scott to build the platform and stairs. We also tiled a utility room floor and shower in the next room. |
Next up was the new bedroom. Now that a style and color scheme was set with the bathroom we could texture and faux the walls in the bedroom. This was a nice subtle wash that warmed the room. |
Next door to the bedroom was the office. We went with a darker finish to suit the furniture and carpet. |
One door off the bathroom opened into the dining room. We once again added a texture and faux finish - this time including a raised border and a fleur-de-lis pattern. |
Here is the staircase to upstairs at the back of the dining room, you can see the bathroom through the door. |

Here's a shot that shows the texture and finish that was used in the dining room. |

A fun part of working in this home was designing a mural for the grandkids playroom. The client had purchased some wall stickers and hoped that we could do something with them. |
Just add some paint to the stickers and this is what you get: |

The next time you're driving down a Nebraskan dirt road, you might want to try and think about what could be on the inside! |
