Designer: Cindy Chinn Artist: Cindy Chinn Date: November 2011
Cindy has been commissioned to create a 5'x3' mural for a dining room. The owners had returned from their trip to Italy and wanted to recreate the view of Positano along the Mediterranean coast.
The colors on the website are not 100% accurate - due to the lighting in the room.
COMPLETE!
The mural is complete and ready for instalation in the client's home.
^ The completed mural
...with the sky and water almost finished, Cindy got a great start on blocking in some color for the background. She'll go back the sky and water after the paint has had some time to 'set'.
...Cindy painted in the pier and shoreline, which really starts framing the village. There are a few buildings and boats to add before she moves on...
Cindy's had a cold for a few days that has slowed her down... she's feeling a little better though! Yha, the paint brushes are working again!
Little boats, lots of flower details, some more color in the water... Cindy works her way across the bottom of the painting.
It's little building madness!!!! 8 full hours of drawing in little doors, windows and rooflines... no wonder I've been putting it off!? :) Click here to see a close-up
Lots of "little" changes going on! I started painting in the buildings and am very happy with how they are looking- the hill in the background is basically finished and now to it's time to move inward... This photo doesn't do it justice... my little camera doesn't like green, it wants to blur it. But this is good enough to give you an idea of how it's going :)
I have been painting straight for a few days and Today, I take the off to let my arm rest... Click on the image to see a full sized image-
Getting there! Just a few more buildings!
A close up of the small boats and (unfinished) flowers.
A closer view of some of the many buildings.
Here's a closer look at the flowerpots they are about 1/8th" wide- Cindy has her small brushes out for this one! (Lucky Gretchen!)
Cindy was busy over the Thanksgiving Holiday... But she is VERY thankful to have the building completed!! Click Here to see a full sized image and to appreciate the detail...
