Arc de Triomphe - Paris

This great monumental arch is also a great viewpoint to see the rest of Paris. It's not as tall as the Eiffel Tower, but offers a great 360 degree view.

Down below, you can watch the traffic circle in one of the world's craziest roundabouts. Look further down the Champs Elysees. It also offers a great view of the Eiffel Tower itself.

The walk up to the top is a bit of a hike if you're not ready for it but can be more than worth the leg cramps if you have good weather.

Under the arc is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and on special days, a flag like the one on the right is flown.

One thing to remember is that if you are going to the Arc, make sure you use the tunnel to get under the traffic. Otherwise, you are placing your life in the hands of dozens of seemingly crazy drivers.
