A Sculpture - Louvre - Paris

The Louvre is an amazing place to find yourself. At first, you will be overwhelmed. Then you will panic that you won't see it all. Finally, you will be facinated at the fabulous creations made by your fellow human beings.

Each time I've gone, I spent a whole day there. I get there as early as I can (avoids lines) and stay until closing. If you are the least bit interested in art, you can not get bored here.

One of my favourite areas is the covered courtyard that contains a great selection of French sculptures. I like to just focus on one or two and try to examine every detail - to the point of getting absorbed in it. It's so easy to get overwhelmed by the massive collection, but when you start looking at the details, you'll get moe out of it.

The Louvre contains a complete cross section of work from the works of the ancient Babylonians to the works of the 1800's. Go there, relax, and enjoy yourself. Don't worry about the famous pieces, they aren't neccessarily the best ones - especially on crowed days.
