Ostia Antica - Near Rome

Once you've seen all of the ancient sites in Rome, you may want to go out of town. I decided not to fight the crowds at Pompeii, so I took the shorter train ride to Ostia Antica. This anceint city was an old port and vacation spot for the Romans. The photo below is one of the well preserved walls of an aristocrat's home. Get there early to avoid any tourist buses that may show up.
