La Jolla, California
This
shot was taken in July of 2005. In La Jolla, there is a great cove
where people can swim, surf, walk, etc. There's a park nearby for
anyone wanting to bar-b-que or walk their dog. In general, a great
place to be near the ocean.
I first
hear of La Jolla while reading John Stienbeck's "Cannery Row". In the
book, the character "Doc" would drive down to La Jolla to collect
marine specimens, which he would later sell to univerisities and such.
The spirit of Doc lives on in La Jolla, as many people will search the tidepools for evrything from crabs to fish and other creatures of the sea.
La Jolla is just north of San Diego,
and great place to stay if you want to get away from the masses. It's a
little on the posh side for a coastal town, but still has its charms.
There are some grat restraurants, hotels and galleries for the
tourists, and of course, the waterfront.
If you're looking for a place to stay, try the La Jolla Inn, friendly people, decent prices and a great location. -
