A long, long time ago, before CRTs, CPUs, CD-ROMs or VHS, Before sewing machines or espresso machines or ice cold beer,

Before Cost Plus, Ford Motorcars, or Smiths Food King,

Before weaving or knitting, sauteeing or deep frying,

A man fell in love with a woman and the woman fell in love with him.

They loved to spend their time together, working together and playing together,

Dreaming together and waking together.

It wasn't so much that they needed to do everything together...

But that when they were together, everything seemed to change... and for the better.

After awhile, they found a lovely cave to share (since this was before cul de sacs)

and started the lifelong journey of really getting to know each other.

Together, they invented sauteeing and sewing.

A generation later, they created beerŠ warm beer, but beer.

After another generation or two, they found out about cul de sacs and moved into one, where they promptly found good uses for CRTs, CPUs, CD-ROMs and VHS.

One day, after a particularly delightful discovery about Smiths Food King, they decided it was about time they shared their daily celebrations with the world.

They arranged a fabulous party, with food and music and special surprises.

And then, at one very particular moment, they paused in their inventing and discovering... in their exploring and creating...

to light a candle

and to call a witness

to this --

this love

with no beginning and no end...

So, so ancient, and now

made new.
