In 2017 I spent a week at a woodcarving conference. It was a great learning experience and met some amazing people. My project for the week was to carve a bust of my Uncle Alton, who was a Navy Pilot. I had on photo to work from, but completed the carving and then I made a custom metal stand for the bust.

I love to combine media when I can, and this was fun, personal and rewarding project. I was able to present it to him on his birthday, and everyone got a little emotional.

  Crucifiction Pew:

  Throne of Grace Pew:
  "Come boldly unto thy throne of grace". It has multiple layers of wood to create depth for a staircase.

  I was commissioned to carve a panel for a custom built buffet. I offered the client 3 different designs and they decided with this panel showing a classic still life.
